Yellow For Manifesting | Valentina Cirasola | Interior Designer

September comes and I feel the end of the year is already here. With schools reopened, I am sure many feel the same way, thrown back in a hectic routing of preparing kids’ lunch, homework, taking them back and forth to game practices and school events. I don’t have kids, thus I am out of this kind of routine. I have clients who push to finish their work before the holiday start and that happens very soon with Halloween.

September reminds us that nature will go on hibernation soon, leaves will turn yellow and will fall to the ground lifeless. That’s the dark side of yellow, but we are not going to look at that for the moment.
September is the month to manifest new ideas and new things we want to happen in the new year, in business or personal life.

Yellow is the color to focus on for manifesting. The sun wakes us up every day, fills our rooms with a bright light and illuminates most of our day. The sun acts like a battery charger and so does yellow. As long as we manifest our wants, needs and desire imagining a yellow light going through our body, surrounding ourselves with yellow flowers or objects, wearing yellow/gold clothes and eating yellow food, we will vibrate as if the sun is going through our body.  It will take a few days, but we will see a clear picture in front of us and we will take actions to make things happening the way we want.

Then we will go to green, the heart chakra, because we will feel at peace that what we have manifested is taking shape with our actions.
Luckily, most of my walls are yellow, from dark to light and golden, I get naturally energized. However even I need a bit more yellow when manifesting. This week, I have worn ochre, sun yellow, light Chartreuse and golden, mixed with blues, brown, greys, bronze and white.

Yellow food has a large part in manifesting, it instills positivity. For me it is not difficult to do, I love food and I love to cook. This week, I picked up some yellow mini peppers and stuffed them open face or whole with various ingredients and then baked them. These are some of the ingredients I use often for a fun variety of the same recipe:
1. canned tuna, olives, capers, cherry tomatoes, bread crumbs, olive oil, salt & pepper.
2. ground meat, mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, spices, beaten egg, olive oil, salt & pepper.
3. rice, cherry tomatoes, any cheese you like, beaten eggs, olive oil, salt & pepper.
The list could on forever.

Mini peppers stuffed open face with saffron rice, spinach, beaten eggs, breadcrumbs, spices, olive oil, salt & pepper.

This is a salad of briefly boiled yellow beet with pomegranate, basil leaves, olive oil, salt & pepper. There is no better way to get energized with yellow food, but the healthy way.

Manifesting something you want to happen in your life happens in the center of the body, exactly in the stomach, where the gold chakra is located. You first think something in your mind, then it gets reworked or felt in the stomach, the gold is activated with your actions and the result will come. Ciao,
Valentina

April Light | Valentina Cirasola | Designer

Light is delicate, the air is fizzy, flowers are in bloom, nature is crisp, I am pondering light thoughts and seeing dreams. This is April in a whole new light.

In Europe, in April we exchanged the wardrobe, lighter weight clothes came down from the top of the wardrobe and we put winter clothes back in boxes well cleaned and ironed, ready for the next season.
In April we wore pastels and lighter color clothes, we wanted to blend in with the fresh nature. We wore layers of clothes to fight cold winters and slowly, by the time April rolled in, we shed a few layers. Shedding layers of clothes happened before global warming, when all seasons followed each other punctually to the dates established by nature itself. Now, living in California, the clothes I wear are the same winter and summer, seasons do not exist anymore. With the exception of a few rainy days, it is always Spring-like here, even in the winter. Summer time might turn windy and cold one week and suddenly the next week the temperature becomes torrid and unbearable.  I don’t complain about sunny days all year round, I should complain more about the price we pay for living here in a sunny region.

April is the first month of the year I get rid of things in my wardrobe, then in September again.
In April I open the windows to possibilities and keep my studio window open to let in the scent of my orange blossoms. I am blessed to work around blooming fruit trees, while somewhere else the world might be still under snow.
In April must free the body from winter toxins, make new friends and prepare to expat for a while from the routine.

April is the month of two zodiac signs, Aries and Taurus, both passionate about the light of their birthstones.
Aries rules with the warm light of yellow diamond, opal and sapphire on the cool side of the spectrum; Taurus dominates with its warm light from topaz, jasper, amber, coral, garnet, with turquoise and emerald on the cool side. If you want to wear yellow, combine it with all these jewel colors I just mentioned.

My April light comes from yellow. I made these two sweaters, one with cool blue rosettes and the other with avocado green threads intertwined with pale yellow. Pardon me, if every so often I shamelessly advertise them, they are in my Etsy store: https://www.etsy.com/shop/ValentinaExpressions

Yes, I am blond and wear a lot of yellow, it makes me feel kissed by the sun. Often, I hear women saying they can’t wear this or that color because it blends too much with the color of their hair. What about women with dark hair wearing dark colors? Doesn’t that blend with the hair? So, it’s a myth. If you like something and looks good, wear it.  Ciao,
Valentina

Yellow Everywhere | Valentina Cirasola | Interior Designer

Floor Design made with 4 Marble Types

During my color talk seminars, I hear, to my surprise, many negative comments about colors. Some people don’t wear orange, they associate it with prison orange. Others don’t wear yellow because it makes them feel jaundice. Green makes some people feel potted and Red, oh my…., let’s not use red because it is too bright, too bold, too everything…..it might excites someone….

Why don’t we start looking at colors as pieces of jewels or tasty food, instead?
Orange: agate stone or healthy orange juice.
Yellow: rare yellow diamond or yellow grape.
Green: emerald or green leafy vegetables.
Red: ruby or juicy strawberries.
Suddenly colors become interesting and vibrate positivity. After all, we embellish our hands with these jewels, and we eat these colors, why should we not have them in our homes.

Once we give a pleasant connotation to any colors, we are encouraged to wear and live even in bold colors. The secret is to use some bold colors sparingly as simple accents to give the décor live vibrations and they will not feel “in your face” anymore.

This year Yellow is everywhere. Yellow shows you are a happy person and have lively spirit. It also says you are courageous, like to take risks and shows you are confident.

A few years ago, I created a spectacular mixed floor (photo at the top) with four kinds of marbles: Giallo di Siena (Siena gold) combined with white Carrara, green and grey cipollino marble.
The result was original. These below are the samples of that room.

What does a foyer entry charged with warm yellow and apricot say about you?

What are you waiting? Use yellow freely, it can only bring sunshine in your life.
As I always say: “Colors will change your life vibrations”. Ciao,
Valentina

Inspiration | Valentina Cirasola | Interior Designer

Every home-buyer has a different need when looking to buy a house. I wanted a house in a good neighbor serviced by major freeways and highways, not too far from stores and a ton of architectural features. I found one with mansard ceilings, some odd-shaped windows, natural light and a good size yard for cultivating some food. Well, the yard was sunburned and no plants in sight. I had some serious garden work in front of me to let it come alive the way it is now. The rest had potentials and I took full advantage.

I found inspiration everywhere from nature, fashion, architecture, antiques and my own travels. Creating my cocoon was not a difficult search. I looked through photos of my gardens and instantly I knew my bathroom had to be yellow and my bedroom ocean blue, which is my essence color and it agrees with my zodiac sign. Red is my passion color. Some of my red fabrics gave me the inspiration for textures and shapes in my bedroom.

The Marsala color on this shirt inspired me to paint my closet in the Marsala liqueur color.

There Is No Blue Without Yellow | Valentina Cirasola | Interior Designer

One of my friends, who grows food so beautifully, gave me a young pumpkin.  Attracted by the round shape, I photographed it and played with Photoshop magic manipulations. So many new versions came out that inspired me to create some new home décor concept boards.

I like very much the first color board I created in yellow tones. Yellow represents the sun in all its energy, it’s optimistic and cheerful. Some people feel annoyed around yellow, some people feel anxious and babies cry more in a yellow room. For these people, muted colors must be mixed with yellow to accommodate the negative effect yellow has on their mind and soul.
Solution: tone down with grayish tones and some light brown, introduce light by adding bluish and pale yellow hues, harmonize it with any hue of light and dark green and punch it up with a small percentage of yellow.

For the rest of us, yellow represents life and happiness. What is the solution? Go for the high tones of vibrant blue, green and purple, mix in the warm golden-yellow and feel kissed by the summer.

There is no blue without yellow and without orange ~ Vincent Van Gogh

Some painters transform the sun into a yellow spot, others transform a yellow spot into the sun ~ Pablo Picasso

I told my dentist my teeth are going yellow. He told me to wear a brown tie ~ Rodney Dangerfield.

When in doubt about the colors of your décor, add a little touch of brown. It’s safe and classy. Ciao,
