Trips To Puglia
ITALY IS NOT A COUNTRY IS AN EMOTION !!! ALLA SALUTE!
(Squash Gnocchi by ©ValentinaCirasola)
As a writer and cultural promoter of Puglia, my native Italian land, it is my intention to let readers feel and experience a new ”wheel of emotions”. I am interested in showing Italy with the eyes of a designer born in those parts.
I want to encourage readers to visit areas of Italy not beaten by massive tourism and through stories of art, architecture, fashion, food-wines, shopping, I want them to create their special adventures and live it up in Puglia!
Through my writing I want to share with all of you feelings, observations, food-wine tasting and experiences that have changed the life of people who have travelled to the tip of Italy.

Films:
The Passion of Christ. American actor Mel Gibson filmed in the nearby Matera. We will visit Matera as well, famous for its UNESCO-listed ancient cave dwellings known as Sassi.
Ben Hur. Morgan Freeman and Jack Huston in Matera 2015 were remaking the epic historical film. See more at:

TV Shows:
Beautiful. A few years ago, one of the longest running American T.V. soap opera landed in Puglia with a large crew, exactly in Polignano and Monopoli, two very quaint towns perched on the cliffs of the Adriatic Sea. Sixteen episodes of Beautiful were filmed in the area in the course of two months. The actors were surprisingly stunned by the beauty of this corner of the world.
Nobles:
Prince Williams ordered all his shirts when got married to Kate Middleton from a tailor in Ginosa.
Indian Maharajah in 2015 got married in Puglia, taking with him 850 wedding guests, elephants, crew, Indian show people and various attractions.
Singers:
Madonna and her daughter spent her winter holidays in Polignano last 2016.

Publications:
I am getting used to see good reviews written about Puglia by well-known publications, it’s a new discover for them and they are raving to the world, but for me, a native of Puglia is only a confirmation that the region is authentic, culturally rich, the lifestyle is favorable to mental and physical well-being, the views are stunning and the food is out of this world, to say the least.

Music: local, folk music is ancient, moving, stimulating and reflects ancient beliefs.
“IF YOU DANCE ALONE YOU CANNOT HEAL” ~ says the text. People of Puglia used to be farmers and paid huge tax to their land owners. At the end of the day, they danced to get rid of the pain cause by tarantula bites they got in the field, or to get rid of sadness of a poor life made of hard work. Today, this folk and dance music has been revived for our appreciation of our origins and for tourists to enjoy it.
