Colors and the Moon Phases

I talk a lot about colors, I wake up and see colors, I feel colors like no others, I live in colors and think in colors. I follow the moon phases and combine colors to them. We know the Moon affects everything on Earth, people, animals, cultivations, the movement of the waters, the shifting of the Earth and births.
The planets and their colors revolving around our birth moment determine our lives. Usually people don’t regards colors as something very important, not me.

This week we are under the influence of the Waning Crescent Moon. In this phase, the Moon is less than 50% illuminated. To get the light into our spirit and balance the darkness this kind of moon brings, I suggest wearing or be surrounded with something white and gold. I explain the reasons in my short video.

As I said the color white brings light and reflects light back. The color gold besides that shimmering infusion of wealth that makes us feel luxurious, is very beneficial to the solar plexus chakra (Manipura) located in the stomach area. That’s the area where all our feelings reside and where we manifest our dreams and goals. The Waning Crescent Moon will last this current week until the next phase when it will change to Waxing Crescent Moon, Aug.1.

Let’s find some inspiration for this week for white and gold. Ciao,
Valentina

Colors: The Base Of Life

Last year 2021, I started a series of short videos “Create Beauty Every Day”. It was a year under the influence of Mercury and Mars, two very strong entities that brought agitated energy into the world, in fact we have seen the results. I decided to create weekly short messages to get through the epidemic, uplift the spirits, to help others overcoming difficult moments by using beautiful things, learn to get surrounded with the nicest things, using colors in new ways and opening the way to new habits. Life might be rough in this exceptional time, but it doesn’t have to be dark, dull and full of fear.

Thinking of adding beauty in our daily life is like we plant seeds in a world hard as concrete, sordid and arid; when we manage to make a crack in that hard concrete a few seeds will come out, then many more will follow and that arid concrete will no longer have strength. Beauty is contagious and reproduces quickly.

Whether is art, music, nature, colors, fun clothes, love, a relaxing bath, a flower that fills the air with joy, or whatever beauty means to people, thinking of beauty daily it positions the soul in a new spirituality that helps understand the beauty of life. I repeat it: beauty is contagious and multiplies quickly.

In this video I read a passage from my book: RED-A Voyage Into Colors, Second Edition, Kindle and paperback.

I will return with the weekly short videos on how to Create Beauty Every Day in February. Ciao.

Positivity Weekly Color Challenge: Diamond | Valentina Cirasola | Interior Designer

The day the book “The Secret” came out, I ran to the bookstore like everybody else. I remember the line to get this book was very long. Ah, yes, bookstores were still around and I was one who spent hours in there, even though I read for free, I always came out with a lot of books in my hands. The Secret revealed many new ideas, many beliefs were foreign to me, and learning about the many laws of the universe really opened up a new way of seeing life. Later, I bought the movie The Secret, and many books to help me searching for the answers to some of life’s questions I had as a result of reading that book.
I gifted a friend in Rome with that book. She searched for years for her ideal man in her dreams that she could not meet no matter what she did. She didn’t know how to use the Law of Attraction until I gave her the book and didn’t know how to use colors to manifest wishes. She read the book and completely changed her views on life’s matters, six months later, she met that man and married him.

Diamond Energy – golden-beige-silver-bluish

Often I pronounced a phrase: “I have so much energy to light up the streets of Paris”. Never really paid attention to this phrase, I said it because my grandmaman said it all the time, to these days I am still repeating the phrases she pronounced. Reading the book The Secret I learned that human beings are made of recycled atoms and we are made of electricity, electricity is energy, energy is a magnet. If we are energized, we pull to us everything we want.  At the bottom of our core, there is light. That light can be our colorful aura. To understand this concept, I was told to look at the asphalt on a very hot day. The top of the asphalt sways, because it vibrates with heat. People vibrate their inner energy with colors the same way. Only sensitive people can see the aura of humans, but each one of us feels the energy we carry inside. If we get up in the morning feeling good, we might attribute it to good night sleep, or a healthy breakfast, in reality, we feel the energy of planets circling over our head at that moment. That energy can be positive, thus we feel good, or bad with all that the complaints we will make about not feeling good.

This week my color challenge is about diamond energy. The diamond reflected light is like a prism of colors, yellow, orange, bluish, silver, green, and much more. Looking at a diamond, if you see more yellow, it means you are on the way to transformation, you are setting goals for a newer path; if you are seeing a bluish tone among other colors, you are looking to find the truth in some of your issues; if you see more orange, coral colors, you are looking for balance. Feeling diamond energy is like all the colors in the prism trickle-down on you, making you feel like a million-dollar. The picture above is one corner of my Bathroom. The golden energy is the first thing I see in the morning.

To activate the diamond energy, use for a week, either yellow, gold, beige, and a little silver, or light blue, turquoise, coral and crystals. After one week go to green and pink for peace and self-love.

I don’t know of anyone who, at this time, is not adapting to a new situation or looking for a transformation. These colors are the right combinations, especially the golden tone, to help you manifest your dreams and easing you into a new YOU. The transformation will shed the burden we are under and will allow more creativity to come in a peaceful environment.

I am transforming into a new me. I am writing a program to sell online to people who want to be their own interior designers and enable them to learn what I have known in 30 years of career. With my program, they don’t have to go to the university for four or more years, will not be stuck with a huge student loan to repay after graduation, and they don’t have to spend money hiring a designer to beautify their home either.

Sparkle and shine your light, this is the right moment. Ciao.

Melissa Muldoon

I have known author Melissa Muldoon for a few years, she is part of the Italian community in my area. She is an extraordinary lover of Italy, its language, arts, food, people and everything Italy produces. She transfers to her followers her love of Italy through her novels and language programs set in Italy. She travels with groups to the country where they learn while having fun.
I think in another life Melissa was born in Italy.

Melissa Muldoon is the author of three novels set in Italy: Dreaming Sophia,” Waking Isabella,” and Eternally Artemisia.”

Eternally Artemisia

Eternally Artemisia – Melissa Muldoon

I adore this video of her latest release Eternally Artemisia, click here to watch it –  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKurWrS4TVM&t=10s
The music has a feeling of almightiness, one can feel the power of a few people designated to rule in epic times when women had no voice…Well…, I leave to you the rest of this intriguing story.

All three books tell the stories of American women and their journeys of self-discovery to find love, uncover hidden truths, and follow their destinies to shape a better future for themselves in Italy. Her second book, “Waking Isabella,” has been translated into Italian — “Il risveglio di Isabella.” All three books are available on Amazon in print and e-pub.

Recently, Dianne Hales, author of La Bella Lingua, reviewed “Eternally Artemisia” and gave it 5 Stars. “A true Renaissance woman, Melissa Muldoon weaves her passions for art and Italy into a stirring saga that sweeps across centuries. As her time-traveling heroine Maddie reconnects with kindred souls, we meet Artemisia Gentileschi, the 17th–century artist who overcame rape and ignominy to gain respect and acclaim. Historic figures such as Galileo and Mussolini also come to life in this intricately plotted novel, but the women who defy all constraints to take control of their destinies are the ones who prove to be eternally fascinating.”

Melissa writes an interesting dual-language blog La Studentessa Matta (the crazy students). Find her on Facebook and Twitter.

Melissa Muldoon is participating in my blog tour for the launch of my new book and as a token of my appreciation, she is receiving a reading based on the color of her zodiac sign: Aries, March 21 – April 19.

Aries being the first sign of the zodiac shows all the strong signs of Spring, when nature “explode” in a rainbow of colors and beauty. Similarly, the pulse of the sign is also expressed through the color of this sign’s governor, planet Mars, named after the Roman God of war. Mars is a sign that belongs to the element of fire and its flame symbolizes the nuances of Aries’s temperament. People born under this sign are energetic, curious, determined individuals. The colors in the flame of fire, from red to pink to fuchsia well characterize the people with this fiery sign when they select colors for their living space or for the clothes they wear.”
Excerpt from my book ©RED-A Voyage Into Colors – Second Edition.

Contrary to what happens to other people when wearing red, Aries people feel calm when red surrounds them or when they wear red, especially if the red color is mixed with light yellows and off-white or cream colors.

What can I design for a writer better than a writing/library room? This is how I envision the colors for that particular room suitable to an Aries.

AriesColors-Fire Element

Aries Colors – Fire Element

I see Melissa’s writing room enveloped in red and cream with touches of wood, perfect for the warmth of a fire element of Aries. I gave her a nice desk made of Sheesham wood, with a comfortable teak/leather lounge chair where she can fantasize on the next book plot, a striped upholstered cream chair paired with a French spool side table, all set on a cream rug. I see one brick wall and three walls painted in an interesting and elegant Modelo design over a faux finished red paint. I want to add many pillows with a pale yellow/cream designs to soften the red walls, colorful floor lamps and table lamps in Maroccan style.

Melissa, black does not harmonize well with other people around you and represents Saturn, your sworn enemy. I have seen you wearing black, think about it of the negative effect it has on you. You can flaunt any value of red with a little something to calm it down, as I said above. The other colors that agree with your Aries sign are saffron, golden yellow, mustard, and rust. Of course, you can wear any color you want, but you were born in these warm colors, like magic, anything is more favorable to you if you wear them. I hope you like it.

Now, please allow me a bit of shameless promotion for my new book release of ©RED – A Voyage Into Colors – Second Edition . It just happened and a lot of fine authors or artists are helping me to take the book on tour.

Spotlight: Teagan Ríordáin Geneviene

Teagan Ríordáin Geneviene

Teagan Ríordáin Geneviene

I met author Teagan Ríordáin Geneviene by chance while visiting writers and creative people in my blogosphere. Her unusual name attracted me, I thought she might have been French (I never did ask), and that wasn’t the only thing that jumped to my eyes. She posted on Google+ a beautiful cover of her coming book “The Delta Pearl”. I was in love with this picture, the sepia tone evokes travel by steamboat, elegant women, mystery, love intrigues, nostalgia, perhaps these are my dreams. I knew nothing about Teagan, I started to read her and share her work. We became friends.

“Teagan’s work is colored by her experiences from living in the southern states and the southwest (of the USA). Teagan most often writes in the fantasy genre, but she also writes cozy mysteries and steampunk. Whether it’s a 1920s mystery, a steampunk adventure, or an urban fantasy, her stories have a strong element of whimsy. There are no extremes in violence, sex, or profanity.” Take a look at her Author Page and her books on  Amazon
The Three Things Serial Story, Murder at the Bijou, and A Ghost in the Kitchen

Her latest release is the third in a series of whimsical Roaring Twenties novels. She took us on “a wild ride on a magical trolley through haunted Savannah, Georgia.”

She writes blogs as well. Her blog “Teagan’s Books” contains serial stories written according to “things” from viewers. www.teagansbooks.com
She asks her audience to leave “words” in the blog comments, words that represent things and she will use them in her serial stories. This is a fun way to get the inspiration going.

Teagan is participating in my new book launch and as a token of my gratitude, she is receiving information regarding her zodiac sign: Cancer or the Crab, June 21-July 21. She prefers to identify herself as the “Moon Girl” in fact, the ruler of Cancer is the Moon. Lunar power is feminine, I bet you, Teagan wears a lot of silver jewelry.

Image by 13smok from Pixabay – Moon Over The Crab

A person born under the Cancer sign likes to relax around the water, which is the element of the crab. If Teagan believes in the theory of Feng Shui as a way to harmonize her home and her personal image, then her water element calls for Lavender, Blue, Azure, and Black colors. It doesn’t mean a room and everything in it must be decorated rigorously in one of these colors only. It simply means that a room will have the dominant color of her personality and all the other colors in the room will create harmony and comfort the “Crab” person seeks. White is the dominant color of the person born under the Crab (Cancer) sign. This person is highly imaginative, loves the arts, lives in a mysterious aura, and the powerful lunar energy he/she lives under, impacts the creativity.

I would suggest for Teagan a mysterious and fantasy room. Let’s take a bedroom and let’s turn it into a “silvery” moon atmosphere her soul needs to restore her creativity with the perfect sleep.

Silvery Moon Atmosphere

Silvery Moon Atmosphere – Valentina Interiors & Designs

Open the photo and the mysterious silvery mood is quite perceptible. White dominates the character of the Cancer sign. White walls to me are very boring, thus I came up with a gradient paint that starts with a relaxing ocean color at the bottom ending in a shaded white color up above towards the ceiling. The floor is a very original blue distressed wood. Bedding is light grey with light yellow designs and a white headboard. I added one lavender velvet accent chair and a few blue chairs. Furniture, sheer window treatment, door frames, and moldings need to be white to echo her dominant zodiac color. I like to see a lot of crystal side lamps and crystal wall sconces to fill the room with beautiful sparkle reflections all over the walls. Crystal quartz scattered throughout the house, a water source, such as a table fountain and a fountain at the front door would be a nice addition. I hope she likes it.

I knew another woman born in the sign of Cancer. She liked only purple, she lived and dressed in purple. I never saw her in the color of her zodiac. She was a busy body woman, always agitated and always looking to grab the next thing. Perhaps she would have been calmer if she had worn colors suitable to her soul.

Colors To Eat | Valentina Cirasola | Author and Designer

BH&G(Photo: BH&G)

This flower arrangement I found on BH&G looks perfect for today’s Easter table. It’s cheerful and vibrant and is definitely a resurrection of the spirit from the winter gloom and snow. Every color has healing power. Color therapy techniques have been around for over 5,000 year. Today we call it chromotherapy. It’s roots go back to Ayurveda Indian natural remedies medicine. Decorating a home or office, or preparing food we bring those healing energies from colors into our life and if we use them correctly, colors will enhance our qualities.

Photo sources in this board:

Round Squash – http://www.oahufresh.com/ingredient/round-squash/ – Limes – http://instiks.com/pin/3740/

Experiment with this color palette, I turned the same flowers arrangement into colors to eat and I came up with food with a perfect healing power. Let’s see what it means to eat nourishing food with these colors and which chakra will benefit from them.

Blue affects the chakra in the throat. As a calming color, blue lowers blood pressure, calms anxiety and helps insomnia. It enhances communication skills and increases will power. Blue food will help de-cluttering the mind from over-driving thoughts.
Orange food will balance too much blue. It’s perfect to serve blackberries mixed with orange slices.

Lavender/Violet is the chakra meditation on top of our head. Wearing violet helps treating mental problems, nervous disorders and tumors. Eating lavender/violet food will lift depression and the sense of disconnection.
Balance violet food with yellow food. When serving lavender tea is best to use lemon and not milk.

Yellow is the color of survival chakra in the upper stomach, or solar chakra. Yellow stimulates concentration and learning abilities, but if the solar chakra is imbalanced will promote fear and anxiety. Yellow food enlivens the solar plexus and reduces stress.
Balance yellow food with blue food. Roasted yellow tomatoes and roasted blue potatoes are a delicious combination.

Orange represents the inner child issues chakra, the sacral or sex chakra, which regulates the metabolism. Psychologically, orange color promotes happiness, increases creativity and socialization. Eating orange food will help curing depression, digestive problems and increase metabolism activities.
Grilled salmon and broiled green squash balance each other well.

Green represents the emotional heart chakra, connected to love, trust and forgiveness. It’s the perfect color for emotional stability and calmness. Eating green food will put you in a calm state of mind, balance the emotions and increase metabolism activity.
Magenta balances too much green.

Let’s transfer the lightness of spring into our food. Enjoy my British lavender scones recipe. I love them fluffy and warm on a breezy spring morning.

Ingredients for 12 scones:

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
½ stick unsalted butter (very cold)
¼ cup sugar 1 teaspoon of dried culinary lavender (fresh lavender is better)
2/3 cup milk
egg wash

Preheat oven at 425° F. Grease and flour a baking sheet. In a mixing bowl mix flour and baking powder together. Add cold butter and make the mixture like breadcrumbs. Mix in sugar and lavender, then add milk to turn the mixture into a sticky dough.
Transfer the mixture to a floured surface or cutting board. With a cookie cutter cut the dough in a thick 1” round disk. Place each disk on the baking sheet previously buttered and floured. Brush the top with an egg wash and sprinkle a small amount of sugar.
Bake for about 12 minutes or until the sconces are golden brown. Serve with candied or natural nasturtium flowers and a home-made orange marmalade.
Bon appetite, I hope your Easter was beautiful and serene. Ciao,
Valentina

Colors Of Barcelona | Valentina Cirasola | Interior Designer

Ah Barcelona….! The city of dancing colors, as I call it. I was there last year between Thanksgiving and Christmas, it was cold, but the amazing colors of the city knocked off the winter darkness from me and made me feel warm inside. Color, style and funky shapes are everywhere. As I am approaching to return, I can see the colors all over again enveloping me in their warm sunny light.

(Click on each photo to view it larger).

The undulating building Architect Antoni Gaudí designed are the quintessential of extraordinary, a precursor of his time who was much criticized for his outlandish ideas of conceiving buildings. Nobody had built anything like that before him and nothing compares to the art of Antoni Gaudí. He left an invaluable and astounding patrimony the world admires breathlessly. The city is happy, colors affect people and their life. They are up all night strolling the streets, eating and drinking through the small hours of the night and  I have not found one rude person there!

Every nuance of color has its own taste. The greens are luxuriant, the blues echoes the sea and sky, the reds and the purples are juicy like strawberries and plums. Nothing is dull. In this kind of environment is hard not to live in full colors. If I ought to have a flat in Barcelona, I would decorate it exactly as I made my color scheme palette, modern in style, hip and funky.

Barcelona Style
(Photo credit is given to each owner of each piece of furniture seen in my board above)

I would use all the colors of energy in the kitchen, dining, great room, and living; I would reserve the colors of relaxation, blues and the greens in bedroom and baths; I would paint in beige, cream and light browns all transition areas, study, and library, but when I get to my home office I would treat it a funky way to make each working day pleasant and playful.

What do you say? Can you handle all these colors throughout the entire home? Or after a while, you would need a detached house to get away from the energy of all these colors? Ciao,
Valentina
