Colors and the Moon Phases

I talk a lot about colors, I wake up and see colors, I feel colors like no others, I live in colors and think in colors. I follow the moon phases and combine colors to them. We know the Moon affects everything on Earth, people, animals, cultivations, the movement of the waters, the shifting of the Earth and births.
The planets and their colors revolving around our birth moment determine our lives. Usually people don’t regards colors as something very important, not me.

This week we are under the influence of the Waning Crescent Moon. In this phase, the Moon is less than 50% illuminated. To get the light into our spirit and balance the darkness this kind of moon brings, I suggest wearing or be surrounded with something white and gold. I explain the reasons in my short video.

As I said the color white brings light and reflects light back. The color gold besides that shimmering infusion of wealth that makes us feel luxurious, is very beneficial to the solar plexus chakra (Manipura) located in the stomach area. That’s the area where all our feelings reside and where we manifest our dreams and goals. The Waning Crescent Moon will last this current week until the next phase when it will change to Waxing Crescent Moon, Aug.1.

Let’s find some inspiration for this week for white and gold. Ciao,
Valentina

Tales Of A Stone | Valentina Cirasola | Author and Designer

How many times I wake up in the morning wanting to remember a dream and nothing comes to mind. “If you touch your hair as soon as you wake up, the dream will be gone” my grandmother told me. I don’t want to remember the bad dreams, I like to leave them in Morpheus’s world. Who wants to remember the bad dreams? But the good dreams….how can we remember them? One stone might do the trick: red jasper and its red vibes.

“We know that in Chinese culture brides wear red on their wedding day for prosperity, passion, and to stimulate the sex life; a red jasper is part of their attire to energize the soul and get increased courage to pursuit dreams.
It is a stone that works on the soul and life purpose.
I have read many interesting tales about this red stone, and I can’t decide which one I like the best. I strongly believe in the healing energy of stones, I like to believe these are not just tales.

  • Do you want to remember your dreams? Place a red jasper under the pillow.
  • Do you want your sex life to come alive? Place a red jasper at the foot of the bed.
  • Do you want to be protected from catching flu? Wear red jasper stone.
  • Do you want to find a new idea? Hold a red jasper in your hands.

I own a few red garnet stones I purchased in Bohemia. I have placed one in my wallet with the coins to attract prosperity and abundance.
Wearing a garnet bracelet on the left wrist will create the new ideas one is looking for; wearing one on the right wrist will create life changes. The people of Bohemia taught me this.”

This is an excerpt from my new book just published:

Now I need to find a red jasper stone. Ciao,

Positivity Weekly Color Challenge: Blue | Valentina Cirasola | Interior Designer

I wanted to write this post at the very beginning of the year 2020 for the power this number represents marking an important year. Events after events started to happen, the vicious coronavirus appeared on the horizon, my work trip to Europe came, and while I was there almost got stuck under a three months lockdown. The frontiers closed down the same day I was on the plane returning back to the States, barely made it.  Now, we are almost halfway done to complete the first six months of this, should I say “exciting” year? 😡 Given all we went through, it is still a good time to talk about the color of 2020. Pantone, the Color Institute declared “classic blue” the color of this year for a reason.

(Click on each photo to view it larger).

Blue graphic

Blue Is…

Adding the numbers of 2020, zero is not considered a number, we get 4, which is the number of the truth. Using blue in every expression of life is like we seek truth and knowledge. Exactly, what we want to hear his year. We don’t want to beat around the bushes, we want to hear the truth from people and countries that put the world in this ugly situation. The number 4 in the Eastern civilization represents order, responsibility, manifestation, physical reality, and tested solutions. Being a universal number it also represents peace, home, and family.

The year with a 4 as the total number of all the numbers together, is the year to achieve that one thing a person always wanted to achieve and get it done. It is the year to fully invest in a creative foundation that stands the test of time and reinventing oneself. Most of us by now have experienced some hardship due to new conditions, doing something different is a new necessity.

It has been said that every person has an aura, lucky are those who can see it. A person with a blue aura tends to speak his/her mind, will always express likes and dislikes, will tell it straight to you if you are right or not, even knowing that can ruffle up people’s feathers. The strong vibrational period we are living this year wants us to step into a total true without censorship.

These above are the colors for a sitting/meditation room I decorated last year for a businesswoman. Being a spiritual woman, treating her life and her spirituality as one, continuously searching for a dialogue with a higher Supreme Being, she is in tune with these colors and recognizes them as good colors for her wellbeing.

Our color energy lies in the seven body centers called Chakras (from the Sanskrit: spinning wheel).  Blue and purple reside on the head area, where thinking and reaching for the Supreme Being happens. Our thoughts start from the blue and purple Chakra and get captured in the universe through strong electromagnetic emanations. Does it sound like fanta-scientific talk? For the non-believers it does. Each chakras point is located at the most important glands in the human body and near the spine, each one releases electromagnetic vibrations and life force happens.

“It is hardly a coincidence that everything on Earth has a color which unconsciously we surround ourselves with. Even when we eat, unconsciously we choose colors of food we feel the need or lack of it in our body.

Every human being transforms the cosmic energy according to his/her biological structure, food is therefore an irreplaceable element to restore and balance our energy. Food cannot be neglected, but unfortunately often, little attention is put on this matter. In addition to simple Chromotherapy techniques, nutrition is indispensable to restore and balance the body’s energy. The colors of the vegetables and fruits we consume are important and must be constantly present in our diet. Even our mood depends on the energy that we generate.”
From my book: ©RED – A Voyage Int Colors, Second Edition.

This purple cabbage originally was green, like all the cabbages. I planted the bottom hardcore in a pot, mixed in coffee ground and eggshells, all from my kitchen, watered it when needed, unknowingly I changed the PH of the ground and voila’ the green cabbage turned purple. It is now a beautiful decorative plant.

I have a little purple and blue in every expression of my life. In my garden, a beautiful patch of blue agapanthus makes me happy when in bloom.

I Am On Electric Press | Valentina Cirasola | Interior Designer

The publisher of Electric Press opens my article with a question: “An article about interior design in a literary magazine…are we crazy? No, we are not.
He continues: As Valentina explains in this article, the interior design of our homes and workspaces have an important bearing on our health and wellbeing and, ultimately this is reflected in our creativity”.

My article “Colours and Emotions” was published today and perhaps it came at the right time when the entire world is on a painful lockdown, sheltered in our homes. We can beat our seclusion by surrounding ourselves with colorful homes, colorful food, and scented plants. During this time, we all have less to do, it might be a good time to learn how to use mirrors to double the image of all pretty things in the home, how to use lights to create great atmospheres and see colors as our friendly aid to positivity.

Nothing beats seeing vibrant colors as soon as we open our eyes to a new day.
Of course, the chirping of birds, a kiss from the loved one, and the aroma of fresh brewing coffee are part of this corollary I call the good life, a natural consequence of a harmonious environment colored the way we like, because you see, before you slapped colors on your walls, or you selected colorful clothes, someone colored the world just the way it is with blue sky, yellow sun, green grass, brown trees, colorful flowers, blue waters, colorful fish, white mountains, and on and on, he was sure we were going to like it.

What is there to be afraid when using colors? If I can keep converting people to colors, I will keep on being happy.

Spotlight: Robbie Cheadle

Robbie Cheadle

Robbie Cheadle

I read somewhere that Robbie, as a girl would have liked to be called Princess Cherry Blossom.
I would have liked to be called a princess, but my father told me that Italy (my native country) had long divorced the monarchy and there wasn’t going to be any princess in our homes, sigh, 😞🙁.

Robbie, short for Roberta, is an author with six published children’s picture books in the Sir Chocolate books series for children aged 2 to 9 years old (co-authored with her son, Michael Cheadle), one published middle grade book in the Silly Willy series and one published preteen/young adult fictionalised biography about her mother’s life as a young girl growing up in an English town in Suffolk during World War II called While the Bombs Fell (co-authored with her mother, Elsie Hancy Eaton). All of Robbie’s children’s books are written under Robbie Cheadle and are published by TSL Publications.”

Robbie Cheadle's Books

Robbie Cheadle’s Books

This is not all Robbie has produced. It seems she has “recently branched into young adult, adult horror and supernatural writing and, in order to clearly differential her children’s books from her adult writing, these will be published under Roberta Eaton Cheadle. Robbie’s first supernatural, young adult book, Through the Nethergate, published as Roberta Eaton Cheadle has recently become available.
Robbie has two short stories in the horror/supernatural genre included in Dark Visions, a collection of 34 short stories by 27 different authors and edited by award-winning author, Dan Alatorre, and three short stories in the short story murder mystery collection, Death Among Us, edited by Stephen Bentley. These short stories are published under Robbie Cheadle.”

Death Among Us

Death Among Us

About Death Among Us, Robbie says:
“Who knew death could be so eclectic?
Relish this mesmerizing murder mystery mash-up of short stories.
Murder and mystery have been the staple of literature and films for years. This anthology of short stories will thrill and entertain you. Some will also make you laugh out loud. Others will stop and make you think.
Think of this murder mystery short story anthology as a book version of appetizers or starters, hors d’oeuvre, meze, or antipasti. It can be read as fillers between books or, as is the case in some countries, as a bookish meze – in its own right.
There are murder mystery styles and locations to suit all tastes: detective fiction, serial killers, sci-fi, histfic, England, Los Angeles, San Francisco, The Great Lakes, Las Vegas, the Nevada desert, Mexico and more in an exquisite exposition of the art of short storytelling.
These stories come from an international cast of authors; some with bestselling books, others are emerging or new talents. Their roots, cultures, and life experiences are as diverse as their writing styles.
But one thing binds them together: they know how to tell a story.”

Robbie has also recently published a poetry collection, Open a new door, together with fellow South African poet, Kim Blades.

Robbie is a Pisces – Febr.19-Mar. 20 – Her element is water. She is receiving the color reading for her zodiac sign as a sign of my gratitude for participating in my book launch and tour for ©RED-A Voyage Into Colors Second Edition, published at the end of last month.

Anybody I have met born under this sign is a very friendly, compassionate, artistic, intuitive, musical, and a gentle person. Pisces people are equal parts rational and mystical, they make friends easily and are devoted lovers, they are balanced and emotional, artistic and pragmatic. My niece is among these people, 17 years old, an aspiring ballerina, who is the nicest person one will ever meet.

The colors of Pisces are hues and values of Purple. They include lilac, violet, mauve, purple and sea green, which is the accent color of the water sign, all the colors girls and young women love.
The planet Neptune with its luminous light blue color rules Robbie’s life if she was born in February, and the planet Uranus with its streaks of yellow, brown and red color rule over her Pisces sign if she was born in March. Mixing the colors of these two planets will make nice combinations.

Her website is named “bake and write” if I understand correctly, Robbie bakes the recipes in her kid’s books. I have seen her baking area in a few videos, it seems pretty plain, no offense Robbie, perhaps you really wanted to keep a minimal style, white and clean look. On the contrary, for the sake of this color reading, I want to stir things up a bit and imagine her baking area a colorful, playful place.

Bakery_PiscesColors

Bakery_Pisces_Colors

Water is a vital element for life on Earth, in ancient times was a sign of prosperity. To invite abundance in her baking space, I would cover one wall with a water image, either in the Northside of her space, East, or Southeast areas and opposite to the water image, I would hang a large mirror as a necessary item to double the water effect, thus double the abundance. I would paint the rest of the walls in a soothing seafoam.

I have always been in favor of preparing food in cheerful kitchens. Today, kitchen appliances come in a variety of colors and that’s a good thing. For Robbie’s bakery, I envision all the fun, colorful appliances shown in my photos. Water element likes wood and glass, these can be the spices shelves or decorative branches with glass planters. Large or small crystal rocks to echo the bottom of the sea or a beach bank will finish the space reproducing the water element in harmony. I hope she likes it.

These color readings I am conceiving for those who have participated in my book launch are meant to show things in the colors they are born into, by no means are to be taken as criticisms. Life becomes easier if we follow the colors of planets and stars that revolved around us at the moment we came into the light. Although, I would love to see realized some of these color readings.

Now, please allow me a bit of shameless promotion for my new book release of ©RED – A Voyage Into Colors – Second Edition. Since its publication, the book has gone on a virtual tour in many countries and a lot of fine authors or artists are helping with the promotion.

Spotlight: James J. Cudney IV

James J. Cudney IV

James J. Cudney IV

I met James J. Cudney IV, during my latest book launch. His name caught my eyes, due to the “IV” at the end of his name, as the fourth in the line of something… I thought he must be royal. Names to me have a meaning, and history, James’s name has a high resonance.

He says about him: “James is my given name, but most folks call me Jay. I live in New York City, grew up on Long Island, and graduated from Moravian College. I spent fifteen years building a technology career in the retail, sports, media, and entertainment industries. I’m a voracious reader in my favorite genres (thriller, suspense, contemporary, mystery, and historical fiction), as books transport me to a different world where I can immerse myself in so many fantastic cultures and places. Writing has been a part of my life as much as my heart, my mind, and my body. I decided to pursue my passion by dusting off the creativity inside my head and drafting outlines for several novels. I quickly realized I was back in my element growing happier and more excited with life each day. My goal in writing is to connect with readers who want to be part of great stories and who enjoy interacting with authors. To get a strong picture of who I am, check out my author website or my blog.”

He is social on Amazon, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Goodreads, Linkedin.

James accepted to participate in my book launch and tour, he has been so helpful in showing me new ways to do a launch, thus as a sign of my gratitude he is receiving a color reading from which he can deduce his advantage. In our choice of colors, we must consider first the favorable colors we are born into under our zodiac sign, those are the colors others respond to positively and when they do, guess what happens? Doors open and opportunities come our way.

pisces-154193_640-Pixabay

Pisces-154193_640-Pixabay

James was born under the zodiac sign of Pisces – Febr.19-Mar. 20, a lovely water sign that makes people very friendly, compassionate, artistic, intuitive, musical, and gentle. I bet he either listens to music a lot or plays a musical instrument. His creative side is writing books and he wrote a lot of them.
The colors of his zodiac sign are hues and values of Purple, on the cool side of the color spectrum. They include lilac, violet, mauve, purple and sea green, which is the accent color of the water sign.

In one of his living spaces, James might want to consider one purple color block wall and the rest of the walls painted in light blue. The planet Neptune with its luminous light blue color rule James if he was born in February, and the planet Uranus with its streaks of yellow, brown and red color rules over his Pisces sign if he was born in March. James can consider all this mix of colors in his life expressions.

Looking at some of his online photos, I had the impression he is a playful person, ready to please others and a very likable person. I want to seduce him (not in a literal way) with an outfit in the colors he was born into, which are beneficial to him. With these colors, he will charm and attract the right people or situations to him.
He might never wear this color combination, I hardly see American men in the purple hues, but at least he will consider it, I am sure. His personality created this color palette for me. As a designer, my goal is to dress men and women or design their homes for their character not just for the current trends. The concept board is self-explanatory, it includes all the colors for a Pisces person, with the choice of shoes as the color accent. I hope he likes it.

Spotlight: Melissa Muldoon

Melissa Muldoon

Melissa Muldoon

I have known author Melissa Muldoon for a few years, she is part of the Italian community in my area. She is an extraordinary lover of Italy, its language, arts, food, people and everything Italy produces. She transfers to her followers her love of Italy through her novels and language programs set in Italy. She travels with groups to the country where they learn while having fun.
I think in another life Melissa was born in Italy.

Melissa Muldoon is the author of three novels set in Italy: Dreaming Sophia,” Waking Isabella,” and Eternally Artemisia.”

Eternally Artemisia

Eternally Artemisia – Melissa Muldoon

I adore this video of her latest release Eternally Artemisia, click here to watch it –  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKurWrS4TVM&t=10s
The music has a feeling of almightiness, one can feel the power of a few people designated to rule in epic times when women had no voice…Well…, I leave to you the rest of this intriguing story.

All three books tell the stories of American women and their journeys of self-discovery to find love, uncover hidden truths, and follow their destinies to shape a better future for themselves in Italy. Her second book, “Waking Isabella,” has been translated into Italian — “Il risveglio di Isabella.” All three books are available on Amazon in print and e-pub.

Recently, Dianne Hales, author of La Bella Lingua, reviewed “Eternally Artemisia” and gave it 5 Stars. “A true Renaissance woman, Melissa Muldoon weaves her passions for art and Italy into a stirring saga that sweeps across centuries. As her time-traveling heroine Maddie reconnects with kindred souls, we meet Artemisia Gentileschi, the 17th–century artist who overcame rape and ignominy to gain respect and acclaim. Historic figures such as Galileo and Mussolini also come to life in this intricately plotted novel, but the women who defy all constraints to take control of their destinies are the ones who prove to be eternally fascinating.”

Melissa writes an interesting dual-language blog La Studentessa Matta (the crazy students). Find her on Facebook and Twitter.

Melissa Muldoon is participating in my blog tour for the launch of my new book and as a token of my appreciation, she is receiving a reading based on the color of her zodiac sign: Aries, March 21 – April 19.

Aries being the first sign of the zodiac shows all the strong signs of Spring, when nature “explode” in a rainbow of colors and beauty. Similarly, the pulse of the sign is also expressed through the color of this sign’s governor, planet Mars, named after the Roman God of war. Mars is a sign that belongs to the element of fire and its flame symbolizes the nuances of Aries’s temperament. People born under this sign are energetic, curious, determined individuals. The colors in the flame of fire, from red to pink to fuchsia well characterize the people with this fiery sign when they select colors for their living space or for the clothes they wear.”
Excerpt from my book ©RED-A Voyage Into Colors – Second Edition.

Contrary to what happens to other people when wearing red, Aries people feel calm when red surrounds them or when they wear red, especially if the red color is mixed with light yellows and off-white or cream colors.

What can I design for a writer better than a writing/library room? This is how I envision the colors for that particular room suitable to an Aries.

AriesColors-Fire Element

Aries Colors – Fire Element

I see Melissa’s writing room enveloped in red and cream with touches of wood, perfect for the warmth of a fire element of Aries. I gave her a nice desk made of Sheesham wood, with a comfortable teak/leather lounge chair where she can fantasize on the next book plot, a striped upholstered cream chair paired with a French spool side table, all set on a cream rug. I see one brick wall and three walls painted in an interesting and elegant Modelo design over a faux finished red paint. I want to add many pillows with a pale yellow/cream designs to soften the red walls, colorful floor lamps and table lamps in Maroccan style.

Melissa, black does not harmonize well with other people around you and represents Saturn, your sworn enemy. I have seen you wearing black, think about it of the negative effect it has on you. You can flaunt any value of red with a little something to calm it down, as I said above. The other colors that agree with your Aries sign are saffron, golden yellow, mustard, and rust. Of course, you can wear any color you want, but you were born in these warm colors, like magic, anything is more favorable to you if you wear them. I hope you like it.

Now, please allow me a bit of shameless promotion for my new book release of ©RED – A Voyage Into Colors – Second Edition . It just happened and a lot of fine authors or artists are helping me to take the book on tour.

Let’s Travel In The Cosmos Of Colors, Book Launch | Valentina Cirasola | Interior Designer

I am happy to announce the release of the Second Edition of the book ©RED – A Voyage Into Colors, a book on colors I published for the first time in 2012. The book was performing well until one day I received the classic lemons from the publisher. I was asked to let go of 50% of my profits from the sale of this book. I refused to comply and my book was made “temporarily not available” on Amazon for three years. I am not a person who gets defeated easily. This year, I reworked the book and republished independently the Second Edition of ©RED – A Voyage Into Colors. Now, the ball is back in my court.

(Click on each picture to view it larger).

RED-A Voyage Into Colors

RED-A Voyage Into Colors – Second Edition – Author Valentina Cirasola

©RED – A Voyage Into Colors – Second edition is a paperback, 124 pages, full of my colorful photography of things that attract me and some of my clients’ homes. After all, what is a book explaining colors, if it doesn’t include colorful pictures? The eyes want to see the beauty and the brain feeds on colors.

Often people refer to shades when they really mean the value, brightness or the darkness of a color.
What is a color without referring to its profile and character? Just like humans, colors have their own character. If we understand how to describe the emotions and sensations they provoke, we will always have a good reaction around the colors we choose, we will subconsciously feel the harmony inside of ourselves and in turn, others will see it and respond positively to us. How people perceive us through colors is very important, colors transmit a message and that is what others see.

What is your message when you get dressed? It doesn’t matter where you go. If you go to grocery shopping with rollers on your head and you are dressed in red, it means you don’t care what others think of you, you dare to be you, the red color will project you as having courage, and the rollers in your hair will pass in a second order. In the same scenario, rollers on your head and you are dressed in black, it means you are trying to hide from the viewers and protect yourself from their criticisms. The colors of your home have messages as well. If your front door is painted red, it means you are an upbeat person; if the front door is yellow, you are an inviting person, cheerful and sunny. My front door is burgundy… exactly…I like red wines and beyond that burgundy door, I added a bit of sophistication to my décor.

Can you sleep and wake up in your zodiac colors? Of course, you can, you were born under those colors, they are natural to your soul.
The moment you came “into the light” many planets revolved over your head making those colors your aura and affected your entire life since that moment. Often, people prefer totally different colors away from their zodiac sign and perhaps totally contrary to their character, simply because they are not aware of the beneficial effects of the colors they were born under or don’t believe it. Colors will determinate their actions, the troubled or unsettled souls living in the wrong colors will continue to feel troubled or unsettled.

With this book, I wanted to depict a colorful bouquet of information regarding home interiors, fashion, and food, all the subjects dear to my heart, each of these subjects thrive on colors. I also delve into explaining colors from a spiritual point of view and how to use them in a technical way. Nature is our best teacher, where all colors are mixed together and co-exist well without rules and prejudices. We can simply copy nature and feel perfect in our choice of colors.

If we live in a home reflecting our personality, if we wear colors becoming to our face and body and if we eat in the rainbow, we can only expect to exude positive energy, which in turn will captivate our surroundings.
Gauguin said: “Color is the language of the listening eye”. It helps our imagination soar with inner power and mystery”. Allow yourself to experiment with various color combinations and challenge your fantasy!

In Company Of Aura House | Valentina Cirasola | Interior Designer

In September, a few years ago, Eleyne-Mari Sharp interviewed me on her
Color Healing Radio and we spend a pleasant 30 minutes on a video call talking about colors and my new book: RED-A Voyage Into Colors.

Eleyne-Mari is an author, a certified color therapist, the director of Aura House School of Color and Light, founder of Color Therapy Month, the “Rainbow Writing” method and she organizes courses to become Color Expert. http://www.aurahouse.com  –   www.colortherapyschool.com

Eleyne-Mari can teach how to write and shout our feelings to the full moon; she is a Lightworker and through her podcast series, she “celebrates conscious writers who are actively using their words to elevate the vibration of the planet”, in her words.

As a spiritual person, she teaches self-love, forgiveness and how to rise above difficulties. Using color therapy or crystal bed therapy, she promotes clarity and healing.

Just like myself, she loves water and says: “I am drawn to the energy of water and have always found it difficult to leave a bath, a pool or an ocean for some alternate playground.  Water is transforming.  It stirs up the inner waves of my emotions. It cleanses my angst”. I cannot agree more with her.

Her radio programs include: Colors for Meditations, Sunday Colors, Color Angels, Heart Day and Full Moon Color Healing Circles, Color Calendar and many others, which can be found here:  http://www.aurahouse.com/color-healing-radio

Our conversation started with telling the experience of my years in the fashion industry as a designer and owner of my fashion company. Through the video call, she could see the color palette I was wearing and, of course, she asked me if I gravitate around those colors. It was a mix of aqua-blue, light-dark blue, light grey and a very small amount of white. The palette is very soothing and I wore it for the interview on purpose, to stay calm and collected. It is also a great palette for a blond with blue eyes. Knowing the power of colors will put us in a better attitude and better situations.

She went on asking me about my colorful interior design career. She wasn’t surprise to learn I use colors to my advantage when I want to be seen or disappear in the background, when I want to be cheerful and bring optimism in my clients’ homes, or when I want them to make decisions. Every color has a purpose.

Eleyne-Mari lived in Italy some time ago, where she admired the freshness of food and, most of all, how important it is for Italian to have colorful food on the table. She was curious to know about my experience with food and if it had anything to do with me writing two cookbooks. Aside from the fact that colorful food is joyous to see, its colors help balancing and nourishing the chakras, I said. Passion has its own color, without it, life has no spice. Being passionate about food and loving my native land of Puglia were two reasons I wrote two cookbooks.

Here is the link of that fun 30 minutes colorful interview:

Eleyne-Mari closes all her communications by saying a “Rainbow Blessings”. I say, let nature inspire you, be in tune with its glorious colors and just copy it.

I love to remember events, situations and people my life brought me, great people, colorful people, each with a message. Thank you Eleyne-Mari. Ciao,
Valentina
