Today at WordPress the weekly photo challenge is about something On The Way by MICHELLE W. – https://dailypost.wordpress.com/dp_photo_challenge/on-the-way –
We have just finished drooling over the photos of Rudolph Valentino in the museum dedicated to him in Castellana, Puglia, lunch was frugal, very homey and good, the day was warm and the sun still high in the sky, an invitation to stay out and enjoy that beautiful day in the middle of May. Castellaneta Beach was on the way to Bari. Just thinking about it, the smell of salty sea filled my nose, my feet already felt the fine sand between the toes and wanted to hurry there, but I didn’t pack a bikini in my luggage, bummer, we had no plans to go to the beach while visiting Puglia. I guess, I will take just the site of the blue Adriatic Sea and make the memory last.
One of the women in the group went straight to the water without caring if it was cold or warm, the desire of wanting to feel that blue-green water making laces on the sand was immense.
After a while, we spotted a nice looking lad. He was the beach lifeguard. One cannot avoid seeing beautiful men in Italy, they are everywhere and this one in the photo, I imagine has his fair share of foreign tourist women to take care….
The vegetation in Puglia is rugged, rough, perfect xeriscape for a hot land, but somehow the sea contributes to soften the atmosphere and the four winds of the region make every hot day a little more pleasant.
I hope one day you will visit Puglia with my groups. It’s a must !!! Ciao,
