Identity Theft On Social Media……Is Rampant | Valentina Cirasola | Interior Designer

I would like to bring to the attention of all my readers and followers a real problem we all have today just by being present on social media. One of my dear friends on Facebook  had her identity profile stolen yesterday along with pictures. It caused her a ton of anguish, because the imposter was using her name and identity to ask for money in her circle of friends and who knows what else would have happened if she had not been alerted by one of her friends in the early morning of strange activities going on under her name. It took many hours of her precious working day,  a lot of efforts from her friends watching her back  and taking actions along with her,  but the impostor is now gone and so is the problem.

Virtual friends can turn in real friends and this is one of the moments when we can all come true for each others and act together making sure our good people are not defamed by malicious individuals who can injure someone’s name and reputation in a instant.

Please take a few moments of your time to read these two posts written by my friend Carra Riley, the person whose identity profile was stolen and our friend Tric Weyerbacher Ortiz  who helped her in many ways.

The same situation can happen to anyone. If you ever see some funny, strange or uncharacteristic activities going on under somebody’s name you trust and care to follow, please make sure to tell that person at once. It’s our social responsibility. Ciao,

I think the person that broke into my apt may have known that I was out buying canvas and I made the mistake of checking n on Facebook. I had to call the police on Monday. Cause I volunteer every Monday from 1-6 pm. Guess the person had thought I had give early. I came back. – my radio was turned off and light that I leave on all the time over the stove had been turned off too. Scary.

I think they heard me coming back and left.

Ruth, I think is a good practice not to put on facebook or any social media where we go and what we do everyday. I am glad you didn’t suffer any theft and you didn’t get hurt. Thanks for the visit and the comment.

I couldn’t believe that there’s been more than 9 mil. cases of identity theft in the US in past year. It’s spreading like a wildfire. The most accessible weapons we all have are awareness and quick response from good friends.
